"We are firm that Article 121 will neither be repealed nor amended," the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department says, referring to cases such as the recent legal tussle over the religious status of the late army commando M. Moorthy.
The High Court had ruled in that case that Article 121(1A) of the Federal Constitution did not give the High Court jurisdiction over matters under the Syariah Court’s jurisdiction.
