Wild Herbs

Planting the Wild Herbs, the earth is helping us
with daily food: paku-pakis, bamboo sprout, kangkung……
Since it is helped by the earth
yet we are living on earth——
Wild herbs, how wild it is? We
are wild in what way?
With food we learn to respect and be grateful
With death we can be alert and fearful
When we no longer lie down drunken like monkey cups
get together, pray and listen timely
trimming desire like exploring difficult little path
the tears we shed are like the chopped grass, cut wood
growing long against the wind, we understand
being lazy is the real wilderness, the real wasteland is
desperation led by over-longing. We
are wild, in what way? What can be eaten in hundred years
with hundred years we plant; Where we can stay for hundred years
in our whole life we love
Isn’t it enough? Herbs for hundred years
planted by the earth for us, love of hundred years
is to be sowed unto the next generation, to plant for the next
generation
The generator generates until eleven o’clock,
to welcome the guest, to serve the guest, more handcraft to be
displayed, only wild herbs
no matter with or without guest, the earth plant for us
let us pluck freely—— need not pluck for ten days
in one day, need not weep the whole life
for eternity—— we are
where we wild.
The earth planted for us,
Where are we.
